EmojiMeanings.store is an independent reference for understanding emoji in everyday messages. We explain the likely tone, relationship context, and common misunderstandings—not only the official character name.
Our goal is to make those explanations clear in the language a person actually uses. A translation is not enough when a symbol can feel affectionate, sarcastic, formal, awkward, or playful depending on the conversation.
What is different here
Every supported meaning begins with Unicode data, then adds original, plain-language guidance for chats, WhatsApp-style messages, dating, friendship, family, and work. The message decoder runs on the device and presents possible readings rather than pretending to know a sender’s mind.
Six launch languages have an editorial content set. Other languages are visibly marked as previews and kept out of search indexing until their deeper examples receive appropriate language review.
Independent and transparent
EmojiMeanings.store is not affiliated with Unicode, Meta, WhatsApp, Apple, Google, Microsoft, Samsung, or Emojipedia. Product and company names are used only to describe the context in which people encounter emoji.
We use native Unicode characters instead of copying proprietary vendor artwork or third-party definitions. Our editorial policy explains sources, uncertainty, updates, and corrections.
